WorkSafe is New Zealand’s primary workplace health and safety regulator.

In regulating the trades and registering people, the Board seeks to promote and safeguard the health and safety of people, their property and the environment. The Board ensures that those carrying out regulated work are competent to do so.

Master Plumbers is a national membership organisation representing excellence in the plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying trades.

Purposes of this Act
The purposes of this Act are—
(a)
to protect the health and safety of members of the public by ensuring the competency of persons engaged in the provision of sanitary plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying services; and
(b)
to regulate persons who carry out sanitary plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying.
