Hints

  • Do not include the database name or the URL from academic databases in reference list entries because these URLs will not resolve for readers
  • If the resource has a DOI, include it. If there is no DOI, reference it like a print version
  • Sometimes it is hard to know how to reference Clinicalkey books. Is it a whole book written by authors(s) or a book with chapters written by different authors? For clues, check out the Front Matter page found in the table of contents. Does it say editors? Click into different chapters of the book to see if different people have written each chapter. If they have, reference it like a chapter in an edited book. Still not sure?
